Greg Van Every of Stewardship Kent taught students how to obtain good quality seeds. Key factors for germination were discussed and demonstrated. Proper soil density, temperature, and moisture are the most important to ensure that good quality seed will germinate.
Big Shell bark, Red Oak, and Pin Oak were planted in two trays. The trays will be maintained in the CK greenhouses for about 13 weeks. This is because the JMSS greenhouse is full of other programs this year, but don't count us out for next year.
