A GREAT SPRING SEASON FOR COMMUNITY TREES INITIATIVE

Thanks to all the participants this spring.  All together we've planted approximately 1750 seedlings this season.  The frost was a little threatening but all the seedlings have come through it and are well on their way to becoming established "whip size" trees for community plantings.

The next phase of Community Trees Initiative will be native carolinian seed collection events in the fall season with new classes and some familiar groups from the past.

The cold-frame boxes are covered in leaf litter to help insulate the seeds from the cold throughout the winter and mimic a natural environment
