Chatham Community Living help green the future
Two groups from the Children's Respite Home and Chatham Community Living showed interest while learning the "seed to tree" process. They volunteered their time and efforts on Saturday March 19th at the Municipal greenhouse planting a variety of native tree species. 5 Children from the Chatham Children's Respite Home planted Red Oak and Walnut seeds. Their efforts helped add 7 newly seeded trays to the greenhouse stock. Later in the morning, a second Community Living group of 7 adults and 2 children joined the efforts to green Chatham-Kent by planting trays with Black Oak, Paw Paw and Red Oak seeds.

The cold-frame boxes are covered in leaf litter to help insulate the seeds from the cold throughout the winter and mimic a natural environment
