Community Living Making It Happen
Five volunteers from Community Living's Making It Happen Program joined us at Maple Leaf Cemetery in Chatham, Ontario to plant a variety of native tree species including Red Maple and Tamarack. The trees were planted in a low lying area to help stabilize the soil and offer an enhanced natural space within cemetery grounds. The volunteers showed lots of enthusiasm as they planted and mulched 40 trees. This group has definately helped make 'greening' happen in Chatham-Kent.

The cold-frame boxes are covered in leaf litter to help insulate the seeds from the cold throughout the winter and mimic a natural environment
