Queen Elizabeth II Public School Peace Garden Planting

A peace garden is in the process of being created at Queen Elizabeth II Public School in Chatham, Ontario. The idea of the garden was proposed by grade 8 student Ethan Parr, who with help from his father and teachers, made his dream a reality. In March 2013, Ethan, his father, and brother, joined me at the greenhouse to seed the prairie plants in trays. The plugs were planted throughout the site on June 11th to create a natural prairie garden on school grounds. It is proposed that a bench, pathway, and memorial will also be established at location in the near future.
